Update Feb 13 -

It’s been a very difficult couple weeks for her and she worsened last week. We got her into two specialists and she has been officially diagnosed with hypertrophic osteodystrophy.

She is on a lot of pain meds and her foster mom has to syringe feed her. It’s very difficult to see a 3 month old puppy in so much pain, and we are focusing on keeping weight on her and managing her pain.

We are not out of the woods and she is pretty much unable to be left alone, even having her foster mom sleep on the couch to comfort her 😫

We are hopeful we can get helen to improve, she has a lot of chutzpah in her!

Update Feb 7 -  our little Helen is back in the hospital. She started showing the same symptoms again and was brought back to urgent care. We’ve run a battery of tests and will be sending her to a specialist ASAP. Please help. Everything helps.

Jan 16

Little Helen Frankenthaler, one of Leticia's pups was admitted to the emergency hospital on the evening of January 15th.  She was suddenly lethargic and had trouble standing on her own. She's only 2.5 months old and has had the good fortune of being born and cared for her entire life in a loving foster home environment, and we want to give her the best care she deserves.  At the time of writing, we have given the vet the go ahead to do more diagnostic tests so that we can figure out how to best treat her.  Vet bills add up quickly, as you know.  Please consider donating.  Every little bit helps.  Thank you.
