Covid-19 has changed so much for everyone. When I chose to close Pawsitively Pets on March 13, prior to the government mandated closure, my main concern was for the health, safety and well-being of all of the wonderful children and families that we support through all of our camp programs, birthday parties, school programs and events. I was hopeful that before the end of April, we might be starting to slowly re-open some programs. Now, heading into our 4th month of closure, working with a skeleton staff to ensure that all the animals have the best possible care and socialization, I have come to the harsh realization that the long-term impacts of many months of closure will become increasingly difficult. What is already a difficult situation, becomes more difficult with every passing day, and gets even more concerning if one of the animals requires any emergency veterinary care.
Our animals are rescued through our registered charity - Rescue Me. Our goal with this fundraiser is to raise enough money for all animal care costs for the next few months, so that we are not using government loans to purchase their food, medication, an upcoming surgery one of our animal friends needs and any additional veterinary expenses that occur.
We are committed to staying open, and hope that our many supporters can help make sure that the animals all have the best possible care, in a situation that unfortunately we had no plan in place for. Once this pandemic subsides, and life as we know it turns to normal, or the new normal, we will all need a safe place in the community, where our children can make new memories, socialize, interact, feel happy and embrace their love of animals.
Our animals have done so much for so many, through all of our camp programs, school visits, pet therapy, parties and more. We know that you care about them and love them just as much as we do. Please help us make sure we can stay on track and provide the best care possible to them during this difficult time. By making a small donation towards their care, dietary and medication needs it will make a huge difference. A charitable tax receipt will be provided for all donations.
