Covid-19 has changed so much for everyone. When we chose to close Pawsitively Pets on March 13, prior to the government mandated closure, my main concern was for the health, safety and well-being of all of the wonderful children and families that we support through all of our camp programs, birthday parties, school programs and events. We were hopeful that before the end of April, we might be starting to slowly re-open some programs. Quickly weeks turned into months, and even as we were able to start to re-open on a small scale in July, we know that we will be operating at 15-20% capacity for the balance of 2020, likely into 2021 to ensure that we do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19.
For so many businesses, it is impossible to stop all revenue generating activities for months, but still manage your rent and other expenses that don't stop. For Pawsitively Pets this is even harder, as the animals still have to eat, see the veterinarian as needed, many of our rescue friends have fairly complex medical needs and prescriptions we need to fill each month, so for us this is even harder.
On average without any significant emergencies our basic animals food, medication and care costs runs us a minimum of $1800-2000 per month. Our hope is to be able to raise enough funds to cover this cost from the time of our closure until December 2020.
We are committed to staying operational and ensuring our animal friends who have done so much for so many can continue to receive the best possible care and a permanent home at Pawsitively Pets.
By making a small donation towards their care, dietary and medication needs will make a huge difference in their lives. A charitable tax receipt will be provided for all donations.
