Residence for Independent Living Society
Your gift can make a profound difference in the lives of adults living with disabilities.
Help us with our financial goal is $150,000 to purchase a new elevator.
We need a new elevator, after 40 years of service in an aging building. Repair parts are becoming obsolete, making this an urgent need to replace it.
Our commitment to our residence to ensure their right to access a safe, reliable elevator cannot be overstated. When the elevator breaks down, residents cannot access the therapy room or activity room, where all social activities take place and residence who live on the 2nd floor cannot access their housing.
Please show your support and help us achieve this goal.
Our impact: We are leaders and pioneers in our Operating Model & Philosophy, promoting choice, independence, inclusion and responsive holistic care to adults living with disabilities.
Who We Are
Founded in 1969, by a grassroots group of compassionate parents of adults with disabilities. Today, the Residence for Independent Living Society oversees two licenced facilities, one in Vancouver’s False Creek, and one in Steveston, both providing 24-hour care assistance. Programs include social & community integration, recreation, life-skills including preparation for independent living. We are community driven and valuable resource for teaching health professionals and practicum students.
