To celebrate, nurture, and promote the arts through diversity, entertainment, and education.
Located in the heart of Kelowna’s Cultural District, the Rotary Centre for the Arts (RCA) is a multidisciplinary visual and performing arts centre.
We continually strive to improve the economic, cultural, and social quality of life in our community by fostering the participation in, and appreciation of, the arts.
As a world-class venue celebrating creative expression through diverse art forms and disciplines, the RCA is a unique facility created by the Kelowna Visual and Performing Arts Centre Society (KVPACS) in 2002. Whether taking art classes in our painting and drawing studio, viewing a live performance in our 326 seat Mary Irwin Theatre, hosting or attending workshops and events in our rehearsal halls or atrium space, visiting one of our many artist studios, or simply enjoying a snack in our bistro, the RCA is a place in which individuals of all ages and backgrounds can come together to share in the excitement of strengthening art and culture in the Okanagan.
Situated and active on the unceded traditional territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) People, the RCA serves 240,000 annual visitors to our building. In order to meet community needs, our team consists of 50+ staff (including instructors) and 90+ volunteers. The RCA has grown to support 12 art tenants in residence by providing affordable studio space to other non-profits in an accessible central downtown location. Well-attended weekly drop-in community programming includes jazz night, blues night, open mic night, salsa night, drum circle, and heART fit (spontaneous process painting). Our four gallery spaces regularly showcase locally curated art for public viewing at no cost.
With a budget of $1.2 million, we rely on the generous support of our community through their engagement with our programming and donation contributions.
We thank you for your every consideration in donating to help us uphold our core values of Diversity, Collaboration, Access, Excellence, Education, and Advocacy of the arts in our community.
