Samaritan’s Purse is responding to Hurricane Dorian, which tore a swath of destruction across the Bahamas in early September. The deadly Category 5 storm packed sustained winds of 300 kph, leaving communities destroyed and desperate.
People along the Eastern seaboard and Maritimes are likely to be affected by this dangerous hurricane over the next several days as it skirts along the coast bringing heavy rains, strong winds, and menacing storm surge.
Samaritan’s Purse is now operating our Emergency Field Hospital in Freeport on Grand Bahama, treating patients for a variety of injuries, illnesses, and other medical issues. In the wake of Hurricane Dorian, we airlifted the mobile facility along with a large medical team at the request of the World Health Organization and the Bahamas government.
Please pray for those who are suffering and for our teams on the ground—and please give generously. Let the people of the Bahamas know that God loves them and has not forgotten them.
