Peter Stoicheff has lived in Saskatoon since moving here from Ontario in 1986. He was born in Ottawa and raised there and in Toronto. His mother was a librarian and artist; his father a physicist. Peter and his wife Kathryn Warden raised their family here – two children, Alix and Christopher – and have supported many arts and culture activities in the city over the last thirty years. Peter began his work at the University of Saskatchewan as an English prof. He taught and researched there for many years, and wrote and recorded acoustic guitar pieces, before becoming dean of Arts & Science in 2010 and president in 2015. His priorities at the university include Indigenization and Reconciliation.
“I am hoping to help draw attention to and increase support for those experiencing homelessness, poverty and chronic illness in Saskatoon.”
