The Schizophrenia Society of New Brunswick Inc. (SSNB) has been active in New Brunswick since 1994. SSNB is a member of the National Schizophrenia Society of Canada.
The Mission of SSNB is to improve the quality of life for those affected by addictions and psychosis through education, support programs, public policy and research. Our Mandate is to provide education, awareness, support and possible employment opportunities for people affected by addiction/mental illness.
SSNB is unique in that it recognizes the barriers people living with an addiction/mental illness cope with and the many challenges that they face. What the Society strives to do is incorporate recovery into the client’s daily life so that the achievements gained through our programs become transferrable to employment.
The goal of the ACHIEVES program is to provide individuals living with an addiction/mental illness, the support and training needed to obtain and maintain employment and/or prepare them to further their education using the skills obtained through the ACHIEVES program; thereby increasing their economic participation and independence.
For fourteen years SSNB has offered the ACHIEVES program with tremendous success (86%). The need for this program has reached the point where it now requires more funding than SSNB can manage on its own. Therefore, SSNB finds itself in need of seeking additional funding in order to fulfil the demands being currently requested.
Please consider donating to this great program.
