Do you want to directly support programs positively impacting people and families’ mental health in Nova Scotia? Walk this Way!

Did you know: Schizophrenia can affect 1 in 100 of all races, cultures, socio economic groups and occurs equally in men and women.

People are 4 times more likely to be victims of violent crimes and have a 20% shorter lifespan. People often report hostility, fearful attitudes, stereotypes and insensitivities from others... Stigma hurts. The Society is inclusive of all, schizophrenia, psychosis, bipolar and all related mental health disorders.

Join the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia on May 5, 2018 and help make a difference. Walk with Us!

The Annual Road to Recovery is celebrating 10 years, this walk event raises much needed funding and opens minds in our communities.

The Walk begins with a 3km stroll through the heart of Halifax, taking advantage of high-visibility areas to raise awareness of the Society, its programs, and its services. The Walk begins and concludes at the Halifax Commons where participants will enjoy music, an inspiring speaker, and meet up with friendly people and family.

Additionally, there will be walks in 2 communities outside of the Halifax Regional Municipality: New Glasgow and Wolfville. Please note if you wish to designate to a particular walk, Halifax, Wolfville and New Glasgow

We encourage you to raise funds by asking your friends, family and colleagues to support you on your Walk and help us keep our doors open to support family and friends.

The Schizophrenia Society does not receive core funding; we need your help! THANK YOU!
