The Seniors’ Information Centre was established by members of the City of Moncton Mayor’s Seniors Advisory Committee along with the assistance of the Volunteer Centre of Southeastern New Brunswick Inc. and Co-op Atlantic. Incorporated in August 2007, the Seniors’ Information Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization.
The mission of the Seniors’ Information Centre is to meet the needs of senior citizens and their families by assisting them in accessing relevant information that will help them to lead more independent and meaningful lives. Our service is offered free of charge to provide assistance to seniors and their families in their search for information and services.
With access to relevant and reliable information, seniors can enjoy living independent, fruitful lives.
The Seniors’ Information Centre focuses on the personal approach — a helpful individual, either on-site or on the telephone will be there to assist you.
The Centre will provide information to:
- Help seniors and their families navigate through the various public services and programs (e.g.: housing, legal, finances, chronic disease)
- Help seniors continue to be self-sufficient and independent.
Our latest information service is the MyCommunityCalendar.ca inititative, a unique website and print calendar in PrimeTime magazine that offers one of the most comprehensive lists of events and activiites in our region. There are currently many calendars synchronized on this website and more are planned as this innovative project unfolds. MyCommunityCalendar.ca is a testimony to the one-community spirit of all the calendar partners for all our citizens, charitable organizations, government and businesses. This project was made possible by the enthusiastic co-operation of many community partners. All calendar partners have agreed to use and promote MyCommunityCalendar.ca to optimize our community’s event information sharing.
