As a community we are experiencing enormous change, upheaval, loss and fear. The accessibility of mental health services in our community is especially important at this time. Requests for counselling at Shalom are increasing, while many people have experienced a reduction in income. This combination leads to a need for more affordable counselling, and Shalom is working to meet this need.
10,000 Steps for Mental Health is a walk to support affordable and accessible counselling at Shalom. The event will be on Saturday, September 19, 2020. To maintain the health and safety of all participants, this year we will be hosting a virtual 10,000 Steps for Mental Health. Although we would prefer to be together as a community, taking steps for mental health, we have made the decision to encourage participation in your own home locations. This removes the risks associated with gathering as a group, and allows each of us to find our own meaningful space to take 10,000 steps for mental health.
Registered participants will receive a link with information to participate in the kick-off.

Join us and start setting your goals. It could be taking 10,000 steps or 1,000 steps, fundraising $10,000 or $100. Set a goal that is right for you and help Shalom provide more affordable, accessible counselling services.
