The South Alberta FASD Network Christmas Campaign runs throughout the months of November and December. The objectives of the Christmas Campaign are two-fold.
- To increase FASD awareness throughout the holiday season because FASD trends are higher during the holiday season. Our messaging emphasizes the importance of "supporting a pregnant woman to be alcohol-free – There is no safe time, no safe type, and no safe amount".
- To hold our 5th annual Christmas Carnival for children and families affected by FASD. Local agencies will be sending out invitations to those that are the most needy and impoverished in our community. The Christmas Carnival, which will be held on December 7, 2019, will be filled with Christmas joy! Crafts, games, face painting, Christmas gifts, music, snacks, hot lunch, prizes, and of course, a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, the Elves, and the Grinch are some of the highlights of the day!
The Christmas Campaign relies on donations and volunteers. We need your support! To fulfill these two objectives, The South Alberta FASD Network participates in conversations with community members and local businesses, publicity through billboards, posters, and awareness ads, while striving to reduce the incidence of FASD.
Please consider donating to help us in making the 2019 Christmas Campaign successful through prevention and awareness during the holiday season, and by providing a Christmas party for children and families who may not otherwise get to experience the true spirit of Christmas.
