As the only Waldorf School east of Montreal, our staff are geographically isolated. While we do receive some funding from the Nova Scotia Group of the Anthroposophic Society, it is earmarked to cover tuition amounts for anthroposophically based courses.
Often the cost of travel and lodging expenses are a barrier for our staff to access professional development opportunities. Often we rely on online courses and distance programs, but the collegiality of being with other Waldorf teachers and administrators from around North America is equally important for re-fueling their inspiration.
This fund is to cover travel, accommodation and food costs related to professional development as well as to provide tuition for courses that fall outside of the Anthroposophic umbrella.
The children of South Shore Waldorf School directly benefit from this investment in our staff.
