St. Felix Centre has remained and will continue to be open through the current challenging times - due to the COVID-19 pandemic - to support people experiencing homelessness and mental illness. We offer a safe space for 150 people every night, and our drop-in program offers warm meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner; approximately 20K meals each month) to our guests and members of the community who suffer from precarious housing, extreme poverty, or even those who are currently facing financial difficulties as a result of this health crisis. We constantly check the health of our guests and offer them different supports that they need to stay healthy. As always, we are a pet friendly space, so people experiencing homelessness don't have to choose between staying safe and having their pets with them.
At the same time, our transitional home for women has 14 residents that depend on us to continue their journey on regaining independent living, and our Clothing Bank keeps making a difference for the community. We have implemented diverse actions to keep the space constantly sanitized and promote social distancing, as well as doing our best to keep serving healthy meals. However, all these efforts have increased our need of unrestricted funds, which we can allocate to the most pressing needs, as they continue to change amid this rapidly-evolving crisis. We need your support to keep saving lives and offering hope to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
