The St. John Ambulance Community Transfer Program provides a caring and affordable option for individuals with a disability or cognitive impairment who require wheelchair or stretcher transportation. This important community service helps family members, friends and neighbours who are in need of a non-emergency medical transfer and are unable to afford the cost. Our medically trained team assists in transferring passengers with compassion, support and professionalism from their homes or place of care to any location.
We need $100,000 to bring the Community Transfer Program to Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland.
Whether it’s transferring people and their families to healthcare facilities, hospices, social events, family gatherings, or their own residences, our Community Transfer attendants go above and beyond to ensure that each person is transported comfortably and safely.
In Spring 2020, we are relaunching the St. John Ambulance Community Transfer Program, filling a gap that taxis, public transit, hospital transfers, and other transportation services leave behind.
Every donation will bring us one step closer to providing affordable transportation to those in need.
