Along with St. John Ambulance, we all have the power to impact our communities during this pandemic, donate today!
In times of need, St. John Ambulance volunteers can always be spotted helping those most impacted by crisis. And when the COVID-19 pandemic began to spread throughout Ontario communities, those same volunteers once again stood up and answered the call. SJA volunteers continue to support health care and humanitarian efforts across the province. To continue our efforts in providing First Aid and Health & Safety training to the general public, SJA Ontario has implemented adaptive training methods such as online Blended Learning and virtual Mental Health & Wellness For The Workplace offerings.
To date, our dedicated volunteers have provided over 15,000 hours of COVID-19 related service through a variety of support activities, such as assisting with care in long-term care facilities, delivering food supplies to First Nations , the homeless and disadvantaged, assisting at COVID-19 assessment centres and isolation facilities, doing phone health checks for quarantined individuals, making masks, as well as helping source and deliver Personal Protective Equipment for health care workers. We have the “virtual” Therapy dog visits by our dedicated Therapy Dog volunteers via our Therapy Dog YouTube Channel! Some Therapy Dog teams also bringing joy to clients through ‘window-visits’, at the long-term care centres.
