The Stan Cassidy Foundation provides funds and resources to the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation, a leading North American neurological rehabilitation facility that serves patients of all ages. Our focus is on patient care through providing direct patient support and enhancing the facility and its services. Founded in the 1950s, the foundation has been largely volunteer-run throughout its history.
About Stan Cassidy Foundation
The Stan Cassidy Foundation is a registered charity. Both the foundation and the centre are named for visionary Canadian, the late Stan Cassidy, member of the Order of Canada and winner of the highest national honour for volunteerism – the Therese Casgrain Award. Stan was a fierce advocate for those with special physical needs, believing that every person could be a contributing member of society.
The Stan Cassidy Foundation’s success is based on partnerships with individuals, corporations, community groups, and governments to help people recover from illness, overcome obstacles, and adapt to changed circumstances.
Since our establishment in the 1950s, we have been directly benefiting the day-to-day lives of Stan Cassidy patients through funding direct-to-patient programs, staff research and education, and major building and equipment campaigns.. For instance, our Care & Comfort initiative helps patients reduce some of the financial demands brought on by disease or injury; our annual research grants contribute to better diagnosis, treatment and the pursuit of cures, while our support for assistive technologies accelerates invention, making more devices possible and available..
The Stan Cassidy Foundation is stable, well-managed, transparent and accountable. Our volunteer board is comprised of a diverse group of leaders from across New Brunswick with a passion for the foundation’s mission. The foundation is managed according to sound business policies and enjoys in-kind support from a wide range of businesses as one way of controlling costs. Banking, investment, insurance, legal and audit services are provided to the foundation by leaders in their respective fields. Audited financial statements for our most recent fiscal year along with our constituting documents and board member biographies are available at any time upon request.
It is the Stan Cassidy Foundation’s ability to bring together the right combination of financial resources, staff expertise and volunteer commitment that makes it effective at realizing Stan’s original vision.
