About This Charity

Student Open Circles has been positively impacting McMaster students and the Hamilton Community for more than 15 years! We are a Hamilton-based charity that mentors and empowers students from diverse backgrounds in personal and spiritual reflection, community service, and leadership development. We run weekly volunteer groups, led by McMaster students, for several non-profit groups across the city, including shelters, after-school programs, homework clubs, soup kitchen, breakfast programs and more. From one small group of weekly volunteers, the initiative has grown to over 300 students in more than 20 weekly groups, giving 10,000 hours of service each year. At minimum wage, this equates to more than $150,000 of benefit to the Hamilton community! For more information on Student Open Circles, visit www.studentopencircles.com
