The Back to School Campaign aspires to set the College on a confident course as the new school year begins by raising money for General / Area of Greatest Need, so that the College is better able to respond to needs and opportunities as they arise. See below for examples of what is supported through gifts given to the Area of Greatest Need.

Words from the donor:

“Last year I had the honour of working for the Canadian College of Performing Arts. Meeting the College’s staff, faculty, patrons, donors and students has been one of the great pleasures in my career. The deep connection donors of the College feel towards the students inspired me, and I want to carry that message forward and inspire more people passionate about the performing arts to get involved and see what a direct impact their donation have on these talented emerging artists.

The drive and determination of the students at the College is absolutely infectious, and supporting the furthering of their training is one of the best investments I feel I could make in the future of our cultural landscape.

Starting a career in the performing arts is a challenging road, and I saw the daily efforts of students to hone their craft and refine their practice. This is undoubtedly the type of supportive and curiosity-cultivating environment that is necessary for artistic growth, and a culture I hope these emerging artists are able to carry forward into their practice. College alumni represent the vast spectrum of roles available in the performing arts - as performers, writers, composers, producers, administrators, and cultural leaders. These emerging artists and the alumni who came before them are clearing new paths in the industry, and I have seen the difference that a scholarship, a bursary, or a donation to the student food bank can make.

Every dollar directly impacts the learning and development of the emerging artists who choose to train at the Canadian College of Performing Arts, and I thank you for joining me in supporting their journey."
