December 2, 2019, goes down as the Foundation's favourite day of the year!
We handed out 58 grants for learning enhancements to schools in the Calgary Catholic School District. In total, we donated $162,000 which in and of itself is impressive. The reality is, we had over $320,000 in grant requests to help our publicly funded Catholic schools develop Calgary's future leaders.
The Calgary Catholic Education Foundation was established 10 years ago to fill the void of casino fundraisers in our schools. As such, our schools rely on the Foundation for the bigger projects that are not part of the base funding from Alberta Education.
This week, we funded programs for Music Therapy for some of our most vulnerable student populations along with opportunities for schools to participate in a week out of school through Calgary Campus/Open Minds and our largest grant request was for technology: Chromebooks, Ipads and LOFT systems.
We want to ensure our Catholic students are obtaining the same learning enhanced opportunities as their counterparts. Invest in our Catholic students today to create our community leaders for tomorrow.
