Laugh Out Loud 2019 – Supporting our Day Treatment School Program
On May 8th, 2019 at Toronto's The Carlu, The George Hull Centre For Children and Families, a leader in children's mental health serving more than 5,000 infants, children, youth and families every year, will host its 12th Annual Laugh Out Loud Comedy Night (LOL 2019) fundraiser. This year, our goal is to raise $100,000 towards the creation of an additional classroom for Grades 6-8 in our Day Treatment School Program for young teens with mental health issues.
It is estimated that 1 in 5 children and youth in Canada are affected by a mental illness. When traditional schools are unable to meet the specific and unique needs of young teens with mental health difficulties, programs like the Day Treatment School Program at The George Hull Centre have the capacity to change a troubled youth's trajectory. Without specialized support, troubled youth fail to thrive, and ultimately lack the necessary skills for successful adjustment at home, at school, and in their communities.
Your donation will help us raise much needed funding to ensure that we continue to help young teens who are suffering with mental health issues and keep them in school so they can thrive and reach their full potential.
Laugh Out Loud 2019 promises to be a memorable evening of comedy and entertainment with Hosts Colin Mochrie and Debra McGrath, Headliner Gavin Crawford, Opening Comedian Nour Hadidi, along with a special performance by award-winning singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk. A night of big laughs for a great cause!
