I have spent several years working for The Pine Project and through this organization I have had the opportunity to spent time working outside getting kids connected to nature. I have seen how getting kids outside can build resilience, awareness and confidence. The Pine Project runs very unique and unstructured nature connection programs that encourage kids to learn through experience, manage risk, ask lots of questions, and build a strong relationship with nature.
On Friday September 29th, I will be doing a 4 hour sit spot to raise money for the Sit-a-thon fundraiser. The Sit-a-thon is an annual fundraiser where participants from the Pine community are sponsored to do a sit spot. A sit spot is a place in nature where the participant sits, and experiences nature without any distractions. The money from this fundraiser will go to The Pine Projects Best Day Ever fund, which is a bursary that supports families that would otherwise not be able to participate in The Pine Projects programs.
Please donate what ever you are able to (even small donations are very important) and hopefully we will be able to raise enough money to support all of the families that are in need of that support.
