Hi! My name is Natália, and on October 13th, I will be sitting quietly for 4 hours at one of my favourite places in nature.
I’m doing this to raise money for the p.i.n.e. project’s “Best Day Ever Bursary Fund” which helps to cover the cost of life-changing nature-connection programs for participants in financial need. I know first-hand that the p.i.n.e. project can change lives and create resilient, adaptable people who care about themselves, others and nature.
My story with the p.i.n.e. project has just started, but it has been truly inspiring. I have always been somehow a nature person, and grew up in numerous camps and outdoor adventures with my family and as a girl scout. But p.i.n.e. has helped me to reconnect with some deeper aspects that were a bit asleep within myself.
I volunteered for p.i.n.e. over the summer 2017 and aim to continue as a volunteer during the next year. Since the first day, I was deeply touched by the culture of simplicity, respect, joy and hope. Their mentoring philosophy helps children to foster their curiosity and discover the world around them, full of mysteries big and small. During this process, they start to discover who they are, and the wonders of being truly connected with life.
And then, without realizing, I was being mentored too. I rediscovered the magic of music to heal our spirit and our hearts; the wonders of spending time on the woods in silence; the joy of playing, exploring and finding beauty in the simplest forms of life. And how all of this makes me feel alive and build deep connections with myself, others and nature.
the p.i.n.e. project is not just teaching people about nature – they are teaching people how to learn, how to be better human beings and how to grow from facing obstacles and challenges. How amazing would the world be if more people were inspired about learning? How amazing would the world be if more people looked at a challenge or obstacle as an opportunity for growth and learning? How awesome would the world be if there were more people dedicated to continuous self-improvement?
I believe on the power of building connections with ourselves, others and nature. I believe this can make a difference in bringing joy, faith and hope in a better world.
Please donate to my sit and help us reach our goal of $15,000. This will help approximately 40 different individuals and families participate in our programs and build better life connections.
