The Momentum 2018 Opening Night Fundraiser on May 3, 2018 is an annual event held at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre to celebrate the end of the School year and student achievement through the special announcements of student scholarships and awards, including the Winchester Prize, which celebrates the outstanding achievements in choreography of three graduating students.

The dance performance will feature all our students who will perform newly commissioned and remounted choreographic works by Peggy BakerChristopher House, and Harold Rheaume (3rd year class), Danny Grossman and Ryan Lee (2nd year class), and Julia Sasso and Darryl Tracy (1st year class).

About This Charity

The School of Toronto Dance Theatre was established in 1968 by the founders of Toronto Dance Theatre: Patricia Beatty, David Earle, and Peter Randazzo. Under the artistic direction of Patricia Fraser since 1993, the School is devoted to providing a broad spectrum of movement classes for the serious dance artist and for the community. It comprises of two streams: 1) Community Programs for children and adults, ages 3 and up, which serves over 250 families and 150 adults annually, and 2) Professional Training that includes pre-professional intensive training and a three-year post-secondary professional training program for students from across Canada and around the world. Today, the School is celebrating 50 years of inspired dance training in 2018 and plays a vital role in dance in Canada and internationally; having an positive impact on our students, faculty, dance artists, professional dance community, and in our local community.
