Help Theatre of the Beat take #ChurchToo to the Netherlands!

Campaign Ended June 18, 2019

Theatre of the Beat is going to the Netherlands and we need your help!

From June 27-30, 2019 Theatre of the Beat will be taking #ChurchToo to the 2nd Annual Global Mennonite Peacebuilding Conference and Festival in Elspeet, Netherlands.

To get us there we need to raise $6500 by June 18, 2019. Even with help from the conference we need to raise more funds so that we can pay our actors and creative team a fair wage for their work. Please donate today so we make this tour.

#ChurchToo is a collective creation by seven playwrights from across North America. Directed by Matt White with dramaturgy by Johnny Wideman, #ChurchToo features an ensemble cast of Meghan Fowler, Brendan Kinnon, Lindsey Middleton, and Robert Murphy. Thecollection of scenes was written by varies writers including Alison Brookins, Jonathan Brower, Joy De Vito, Charlie Gray, Gary Kirkham, Megan Piercey Monafu, and Hillary Rexe whose aim was to create space for conversations and truth-telling in regards to sexual abuse in Christian communities.

#ChurchToo explores the struggle of wading into the realities of sexual assault and examines the difficulties of speaking out in a community where the topic of sex is often considered taboo.

Please help us bring this important piece of theatre to church leaders from around the globe at this year’s Annual Global Mennonite Peacebuilding Conference..
