Theatre Orangeville has a dream and we need your help to bring it to life.
A dream of a community celebrating each other and working together to create positive change. A dream of celebrating all levels of ability; both physical, developmental and in experience. A dream of people coming from all over to take part in the most basic of human experiences – the sharing of our stories.
In August of 2019, Theatre Orangeville presents Shakespeare’s most enduring comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as you have never seen it before in the most complex undertaking by any regional theatre organization. With this production, we will continue to step towards equality in the performance arts, bringing together professional and non-professional actors, both those young and old.
Our Creative Partners on Stage actors, a program supporting adults with developmental disabilities, will have the opportunity to audition and participate on the strength of their own ability and initiative. Our Young Company Drama participants, youth ages 9-17, will have the chance to work directly with professional equity actors and experience a valuable mentoring opportunity.
Together, with our community partners, we will transform the waterfront amphitheatre at Island Lake Conservation area to the fantastical world of Shakespeare
Your donation would help to support:
- provision of any required assistance to our Creative Partners on Stage actors
- purchasing of materials needed to build the set, props and create the costumes
- facilitating workshops to help our Creative Partners on Stage and Young Company actors prepare in working with Shakespearean prose
As a not-for-profit organization, we could not do what we do without the generous support of dedicated patrons and donors and their fervent belief that no one ever leaves the theatre, any theatre, unchanged.
I hope that you will join us in supporting an once-in-a-lifetime experience that brings together talent from across our community in an epic collaboration of inclusion and creativity.
