On October 14th, 2018 Together We Can will be hosting our 25th Anniversary Gala.
Funds raised from our gala will go towards one of our most important goals; opening the doors to our brand-new Recovery Resource Centre that will provide access to more mental health, counselling, medical and educational services. Important programming such as psychiatric, one on one counselling, and clinical services will also be available on an out-patient basis so that we can better serve the recovery community both inside, and outside of our treatment program.
Additionally, we will soon officially announce the creation of the Drake Kotula Scholarship fund in memory of one of Together We Can’s fallen sons. This scholarship will be made available to our transitional housing clients who are re-entering the community and wish to further their educational endeavours and employability skills.
Above and beyond all the exciting and impacting initiatives that Together We Can will accomplish this year, we will also make progress toward our primary long-term goal: to partner with private, public, and healthcare stake-holders to build a new 100-bed treatment facility. This facility will provide housing security in the turbulent housing market, it will optimize our resources and centralize our services, it will enable us to meet the demand for our treatment services and further diversify our program.
We would like to invite you all to be a part of our next 25 years as we continue with our mandate to educate and support men and families who struggle with the challenges of addiction, and desire a new life in recovery.
The Great Gatsby inspired evening kicks off with a walk on the Red Carpet, media wall photos, a cool TWC pop up shop and a chance to bid on items in the silent auction station followed by a gourmet dinner, Gatsby inspired mocktails and stellar entertainment.
Hosted by legendary Master of Ceremonies Howard Blank, the fun continues with performances by The Underground Circus, TWC’s house band the Originals featuring Scizzorfairy, dancing to Michael Buble’ tribute band Sway and a fabulous live auction. We are delighted to have special guest speakers including former BC Lions Captain Angus Reid and NFL/CFL veteran Moe Elewonibi
We look forward to sharing a beautiful evening in celebration of our 25 years in the community.
