“Running allows me the space to break boundaries I’ve created for myself, as well as a space to build the mental grit and perseverance required to live differently as a woman in a deeply patriarchal world. A world that incessantly works to break the spirit of women as a class.
Running is one way for me to connect with not only my own strength but also the collective strength of women. Running is practice in digging deep.”
- Jerusa Rodrigues, female long distance runner and TRCC/MWAR supporter
The Toronto Rape Crisis Centre/Multicultural Women Rape is hosting our 1st Annual Toronto Run & Roll Against Violence!
The 5K race will take place at 9am on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at High Park. Funds raised will go directly to survivors of violence through our Face-to-Face counseling, Court Support and Accompaniment and Public Education Campaigns and Workshops.
The TRRAV is a fun way for runners and walkers to come together to build a healthy community and support survivors of sexual violence. Participants are encouraged to create their own personal fundraising page to raise additional support.
The TRRAV is an accessible event. We encourage people of all ages, genders and abilities to participate!
TRCC/MWAR is a grassroots, women-run collective working towards a violence-free world by providing anti-oppressive, feminist peer support to survivors of sexual violence through support, education and activism.
