Rose of Hope Tournament 2018
UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS KINGSTON FOUNDATION
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Rose of Hope tournament which is taking place on July 31 at the Cataraqui Golf & Country Club in Kingston. The women of Cataraqui Golf and Country Club hold the tournament to raise fund for cancer programs at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC). Together, with its participants and sponsors, the tournament has raised in excess of $1.6 million for cancer services in our region since the tournament began. This year proceeds will help the Rose of Hope tournament realize their goal of raising over $500,000 to help configure, equip, furnish, and improve the space at KHSC’s Hotel Dieu Hospital site where 3,700 women yearly face the possibility of starting their breast cancer journey.
Every year hundreds of women in the Kingston region are diagnosed with breast cancer as it is the most prevalent form of cancer among Canadian women. Because early detection offers the very best chance for a good prognosis, tournament organizers have set a new goal to ensure every woman from our community who undergoes screening by mammogram has the best care experience, possible. Everyone is invited to support the tournament, participants raising funds and the women and families facing breast cancer from our community.
