We are a small local group of volunteers operating a Registered, Non-profit Charitable Society known as Vernon & District Animal Care Society (or VDACS). We service the North Okanagan Regional District, plus Falkland. Our primary focus is spay/neuter financial assistance for low income families. We are not a shelter – our goal is to reduce the need for a shelter by reducing pet overpopulation.
One hundred percent (100 %) of monies donated to us or raised by us at various events stays within our District to help local animals.
About VERNON & DISTRICT ANIMAL CARE SOCIETY
VDACS began with low cost spay/neuter, but a need for emergency veterinary care financial assistance soon became apparent. We also try to help with feral colonies and rehoming family cats.
While some organizations concentrate on just one aspect of animal welfare in a large geographical area, VDACS tries to help in many ways but limits our area to the North Okanagan and Falkland only.
VDACS raises money to provide financial assistance to low income individuals or families to have their pets “fixed”. From 2001 to June 2013, VDACS has spayed/neutered almost 12,000 cats.
Emergency Veterinary Care Assistance
VDACS raises money to provide financial assistance to low income individuals or families if their pets become sick or are injured.
