Our Philosophy: Music should be learned and shared. Choral singing gives young musicians an opportunity to discover a love of vocal sound, poetry, and the history of music performance - and share their passion with each other and all those who listen. Musical experience lasts a lifetime, and Victoria Children’s Choir members learn to work together and achieve standards of excellence as they mature as musicians and artists, and perform as equals with professional ensembles.
About Victoria Children's Choir
Every season (from September to June) six dozen young choristers - led by Artistic Director Madeleine Humer, and our award-winning artistic team - collaborate to learn and perform extraordinary music. Children in our Apprentice and Concert Choirs (ages eight to eighteen) are immersed in advanced choral music mentorship and singing to advance their natural abilities.
At the Victoria Children's Choir, we are fans of beautiful, fun, unexpected, and challenging music. Every season, we explore compositions both rare and well-known. Singers learn classical and contemporary styles, custom arrangements, specially commissioned works, and songs that highlight language and sound. Once practiced and perfected, the Choirs share their award-winning repertoire at a variety of signature concerts, guest appearances, and community events.
From weekly rehearsals to monthly performances, special events and annual tours, the Choir inspires minds, hearts, and voices of enthusiastic young singers!
