On the morning of June 12, 2017 The Parky’s Pedalers will depart from Port Hardy for a five day bike ride to Victoria to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s Disease.
A team of 20 riders will ride from the northern tip of Vancouver Island to the southern tip in Victoria bringing awareness about Parkinson's to the communities of Vancouver Island. It is their hope to raise $30,000 to donate to Parkinson's research as well to help support a local Parkinson's non-profit society: HeadWay Victoria Epilepsy and Parkinson's Centre.
The fundraising group will be lead by Alf Todd, an island advocate for Parkinson's who does presentations in many of our island communities about Parkinson’s and the need for research, as well as the benefits of a centre like HeadWay and its impact on the local Parkinson's community.
