With the addition of seniors programming to the current Youth Centre facility, at 1621 Mosley, plans are underway to renovate the outbuilding on the property, affectionately known as the garage, in order to create additional meeting and programming space.
Currently, the Youth Centre Garage is used for meetings and programming, as well as storage of youth centre equipment and supplies. The building’s current condition is not amenable to public use because it is not an accessible building and the general state of the building is unsuitable. The bathroom has been out of order since before the inception of the Youth Centre. Much of the space in the garage is unfinished, the heating system requires replacement and storage spaces are not effectively separated and secured from the programming space.
Expanding the meeting space with accessible pathways and a proper washroom, updated lighting, secure and efficient storage space, multipurpose chairs and tables, as well as internet will provide a much improved space for youth and seniors as well as an affordable rental meeting space for the community.
Thank you to generous community focused organizations, businesses and individuals the Town of Wasaga Beach is able to continue to offer initiatives of health and well-being to all generations of Wasaga Beach. By offering the majority of our services at no cost or heavily subsidized we help to remove barriers that otherwise might prevent an individual from being able to access these beneficial programs. Youth and seniors are an integral part of our community and together we are able to provide them with the resources to help them continue to be healthy and active citizens.
