The Wellesley Community Food Cupboard is a grassroots, community-driven organization with a simple yet powerful philosophy: Neighbours caring for Neighbours. We exist to alleviate hunger by providing supplemental food support to individuals and families in Wellesley Township and surrounding area who are experiencing food insecurity. Each month, we provide approximately 165 neighbours with fresh, perishable food hampers and grocery store gift cards—giving them both nourishment and the dignity of choice. The need for support continues to grow. In the past year alone, we served 34% more people than the year before. Many of those we assist are hard working individuals and families who are employed but still unable to meet basic living costs due to the sharp rise in housing and food prices over the past decade.
