Women’s Shelters Canada brings together 16 provincial and territorial shelter organizations to support over 600 shelters across the country – shelters that assist women and children fleeing violence.
In Canada, there was a 26% increase in killings of women and children during the COVID-19 pandemic. This number continues to grow. Our advocacy informs governments, educates the public, and impacts policies made to reduce gender-based violence.
