Giving Tuesday

Double your impact for Arctic wildlife this Giving Tuesday – Give now

Life in the Arctic depends on sea ice, and sea ice depends on the cold. But the effects of climate change have the Arctic heating up four times faster than the rest of the planet.

At WWF-Canada, we’re focused on giving Arctic species the best possible chance at adapting to a rapidly warming world. To do that, we need to understand how climate change, and its resulting threats like increased shipping and industrial development, is affecting wildlife.

This Giving Tuesday, you can help fund critical wildlife research projects that combine new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), satellite tracking, drones and acoustic monitoring with Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (Inuit knowledge) to achieve conservation outcomes that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. As a special incentive, your gift will be matched* dollar for dollar.

For example, you’ll support leading researchers and Inuit experts as they tag bowhead whales and explore their movements through Foxe Basin. The more we know about this ice whale’s migration patterns and behaviour, the better equipped we are to protect these blue corridors from threats like increased shipping and underwater noise, resource extraction and other industrial development.

Please join us in making new discoveries that will help these remarkable species and others remain an integral part of the Arctic and Inuit culture. From now until 11:59 p.m. on November 28, your gift will be matched* to make twice the impact for at-risk Arctic species.

Disclaimer:
*In support of WWF-Canada’s important conservation work, our dedicated Arctic conservation supporter, the Alan and Patricia Koval Foundation, will match all Giving Tuesday donations up to a total of $50,000 made before 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 28, 2023 in support of the Arctic Species Conservation Fund.
In the eventuality that we raise net funds in excess of $50,000 (excludes matching gift), the remaining funds will be redirected toward other important WWF-Canada work.
