Noth Okanagan Hospice Society offers services to palliative clients and their loved ones.  The Society was incorporated in October 1984. 
In 1999, residents of the North Okanagan recognized the need for an alternative to hospital admission, when providing care at home was no longer possible. The community realized that the hospital environment was neither appropriate nor cost-effective for palliative clients. Adding residential services to the continuum of care already offered by the Society would provide the home-like choice so desired by clients. After careful consideration, the Society’s Board of Directors decided to build a free-standing six bed Hospice House (expanded to a 12 bed facility in 2008).
Fiscal responsibility and being responsive to the needs of the community make Hospice House an extraordinary success in the North Okanagan.  The Society is recognized for delivering excellence in palliative care in the North Okanagan.
