To truly be no-kill, animal servicing agencies must have avenues where animals that would otherwise be euthanized can find forever homes. This includes: medical hospitals where animals can be rehabilitated for adoptions, foster programs where animals can live in the comfort of a foster family, and sanctuaries where unadoptable animals can live out their lives in a loving secure environment.

We intend to be the next big international organization in animal care. Our goal is to create cat and dog sanctuaries in every municipality. RAPS has 25 years of Sanctuary experience. Become a founder of RAPS by donating and supporting the RAPS Animal Hospital and support us in franchising the Regional Animal Protection Society. In addition, help us quadruple the size of our Cat Sanctuary. Help us raise $2 million to meet these goals.

RAPS began 25 years ago, operating what has become Canada’s largest cat sanctuaries, where unadoptable cats live out their lives surrounded by love and comfort. For the past decade, we have been entrusted to run the City of Richmond Animal Shelter, providing care and control for the animals of Richmond, BC. We have a network of foster homes where animals are socialized in preparation for their forever homes. The RAPS Thrift Stores are a social enterprise that helps the environment, the economy and, most importantly, the animals of RAPS.

We have recently built an animal hospital that enables us to eliminate our external medical expenses, enhance services for households with low-incomes, grow our Cat Sanctuary, open a new Dog Sanctuary, and create a shareable model for no-kill animal care (no animal is ever euthanized due to lack of space, treatable illness, physical defect, or solvable behavioural or socialization issues)!
