Thank you for supporting everyone’s right to food
At FoodShare, everything we do is about upholding the right for people to access food equitably, on their own terms. We do that by supporting community-led initiatives and prioritizing our resources to communities hit the hardest by poverty and food insecurity — which are Black, Indigenous, people of colour, people with disabilities and folks living on a low income.
In a city where 1 in 5 households are food insecure, and with the growing pressures of record high inflation and an ongoing pandemic, this work is more critical than ever.
Your contribution means we can reach more than 460,000 people each year through food access and food growing initiatives, and support us in advocating for meaningful policy change towards the right to food for all. Through piloting innovative urban farms, supporting community-owned produce markets and coordinating community spaces for learning, engagement and advocacy, we collaborate with local leaders and community groups who inform and direct our work. We envision a Toronto where everyone can feed themselves, their loved ones and their communities with dignity and with joy.
