ACOMI, I Belong

The African Communities of Manitoba Incorporated’s (ACOMI) mission is to build community unity and prosperity. For over 20 years, we have provided equal opportunities to people of African heritage and Manitobans through programs that provide access to employment, settlement documentation and social spaces that support personal, family, and community growth.

To move ACOMI into the next era, we have launched the “I Belong” initiative to showcase the power, unity, and voice of people of African heritage in Manitoba. Through I Belong, we are changing the way people think about what it means to be African in Manitoba by breaking down barriers and holistically blending Canadian and African cultures together.

By supporting the I Belong initiative, you are supporting the largest fundraising initiative in the history of ACOMI, the development of a new ACOMI that has the capacity to better address the rapidly changing community needs, and the 20-year-old dream of building the Africa Centre - the first community and resource centre for people of African heritage in Manitoba.
