Canada has long been at the forefront, leading other nations to join this important humanitarian cause. The Canadian Landmine Foundation, a private sector foundation, continues to exemplify Canada's commitment to a global ban on landmines.

The Canadian Landmine Foundation was formed as a registered charity with a mission to raise awareness & funds to end the human and economic suffering caused by anti-personnel landmines. Officially introduced by The Hon. Lloyd Axworthy on June 28, 1999, the Canadian Landmine Foundation is a registered charitable organization and is governed by a Chairman, a Board of Directors comprised of prominent Canadians from across the country and is led by a President & CEO.

Constituée en personne morale en avril 1999, la Fondation des Mines Terrestres du Canada s'efforce de tirer parti de la fierté des Canadiens et de leur participation à la Convention d'Ottawa de décembre 1997. La Convention interdit la production, le stockage, le transfert et l'emploi de toutes les mines antipersonnel. 

La Fondation des Mines Terrestres du Canada est un organisme de charité enregistré qui a pour mission de sensibiliser les gens et de collecter des fonds pour mettre fin aux souffrances humaines et aux problèmes économiques causés par les mines antipersonnel. Présentée officiellement par l'honorable Lloyd Axworthy le 28 juin 1999, la Fondation des Mines Terrestres du Canada est un organisme de charité enregistré dirigé par un président du conseil, un conseil d'administration composé d'éminents Canadiens de tout le pays à la tête desquels se trouve un président et directeur général.
