Peace begins when the Hungry are Fed -- Mother Teresa

Food Security is a growing problem in the area of Weston and around Winnipeg, Manitoba. St Thomas Church and its community outreach project Kreative would like to combat this issue.

During the School Closure we are offering FREE take out meals and Free Craftastic Activity Bags every Wednesday and Friday to those who need it.

This project started at the end of March when school officially closed in Manitoba. We initially projected a 3 week lifespan for the Take out meals Program but with schools not opening till possibly September the need for the program has become even greater, With no access to daily Breakfast and lunch programs there are lots of kids (and parents) going without proper meals,. Twice a week we are feeding over 30 families, with a total of 75 to 100 meals given out.

Our crafting bags have also become a big hit with the kids who look forward to finding out what they will get to make that week. We started out making 15 bags now we are up to 45 bags twice a week.

This will provide  3 take out meals and crafting bags

This will provide  10 take out meals and crafting bags, which is approx 3 families.

This will provide  50 take out meals and crafting bags, which is approx 15 families.

Will sponsor one full evening of take out meals and crafting bags. As each night we give away 75-100 meals and 45 crafting bags.
