TAPS provides free face-to-face legal information, advocacy and assistance with and representation at appeals and hearings in the areas of income assistance and tenancy legislation.  This service is provided to persons with low-incomes living in the Greater Victoria area.  TAPS, for examples, assists people receiving eviction notices, having difficulty accessing income assistance benefits including application for disability benefits.  TAPS also provides training and workshops to the public and community groups regarding a person’s rights and responsibilities in the areas of income assistance and tenancy legislation. In any other year, this would be the time when we would be gathering at the Heron Rock Bistro to celebrate the work of TAPS. Tapas for TAPS has become a fixture in our calendars, but like so much else, it has been upended by COVID-19. 

This year we ask that you think about what you might have spent at Tapas for TAPS, and consider making a donation of an equivalent amount in either a single or monthly donation. With help from you, TAPS can continue to offer essential services to some of Victoria’s most vulnerable citizens.
