Child Advocacy Centre Niagara is a safe place to tell your secrets for children and youth who have been physically abused, sexually abused, become the targets of internet luring, or were the unwilling witness of violence. Opened in Fall 2008, the Centre serves Niagara’s 12 municipalities, helping children and families cope with the life altering impact of child abuse. Children speak about their experience of abuse to specially trained teams that investigate and conduct forensic interviews. These video recorded interviews are proven to be effective in gathering valuable information to help both the child and the justice system. CACN offers a Family Advocacy Program, a support and reference service for children, youth and their families. Counselling is provided at no cost, and without a wait list. CACN’s partners are Niagara Regional Police Service, Family and Children’s Services Niagara, Family Counselling Centre Niagara and medical professionals.

Le Centre d’intervention pour les enfants de Niagara est un endroit sûr où confier vos secrets, un endroit pour les enfants traumatisés par les mauvais traitements reçus. Une équipe de professionnels attentionnés et chaleureux travaillent ensemble dans un endroit privé, sécuritaire et adapté aux besoins des enfants. Ces derniers peuvent ainsi fournir des renseignements qui aident à faire progresser l’enquête et à poursuivre les contrevenants en justice. Le centre offre des séances de counselling de suivi aux enfants et aux membres non agresseurs de la famille. Les partenaires professionnels sont le service de police de la région de Niagara, les services à la famille et à l’enfance de Niagara (FACS Niagara), le centre de counselling familial de Niagara (Family Counselling Centre Niagara) et des professionnels de la santé. Le centre est le premier établissement spécialisé de son genre au Canada et offre ses services aux 12 municipalités de la région de Niagara.
