People across our city and region, including your own friends and neighbours, have been deeply affected by COVID-19.

Individuals and families who were already experiencing #UNIGNORABLE issues of poverty continue to face overwhelming challenges. People are struggling to put food on the table. Paying rent is a daily worry for many and now - Christmas is coming.

With winter looming and cases on the rise, people and families are going to need your help more than ever.

The United Way of Thunder Bay RECOVER 2020 campaign is focused on supporting the immediate needs of local people and families. It’s about neighbours helping neighbours and community supporting community. 

We cannot do this alone; we must recover together as a community.


Provides social interaction and wellness check-ins for isolated seniors and individuals with special needs who can't leave their homes due to COVID-19

Provides two at-risk individuals with an emergency hamper with food and basic needs

 Provides one family with an emergency food bag

 Provides one vulnerable youth with 2 lunches each month

SHOW YOUR LOCAL LOVE DAY

Provides 120 hot meals a day for a week through a local community kitchen



Provides two families with sick / immune compromised children activities and games kits to stay safe playing at home or Provides nutritious food and fresh produce for two families for a month

Provides vital social connects to individuals social distancing in Thunder Bay and  one emergency food hamper to seniors living in social isolation

Provides 14 hot meals to vulnerable individuals in Thunder Bay each month
