Corporate Leaders are part of a community wide effort to tackle poverty and ensure that essential food, clothing, housing and other services such as education and unemployment supports are available for people, children, families, and seniors.

The Corporate Leader Award Program recognizes the generosity of our city’s caring corporations. Awards are based on the total annual corporate gift to the United Way of Thunder Bay of $2,000 or more, including monetary, gift-in-kind, and sponsorship.

$170 covers the cost of two weeks of food and snacks to provide food programming in five schools. 

$420 covers the cost to host 8 school Powwows.

$840 provides one-on-one counselling to 200 women trying to reintegrate into our community.

$1,250: provides emergency food kits to Elders in eight northern and remote First Nations communities for 6 months.

$2,000 provides transportation to 200 people a year to attend vital appointments and services.

$5,000 provides over 200 activity kits to seniors socially isolated due to COVID-19.

$10,000 fully funds costs associated with connecting At-Risk Seniors and Shut-Ins to a food delivery program as needs have increased during COVID-19. 


$15,000 fully funds literacy programming for 100+ youth in Thunder Bay for 8 months.
