Stand Up For Archway Society

“Stand Up For” is an annual local fundraising challenge by Brittney Page and Kristin Postill where they paddleboard the length of Kalamalka Lake, 16km, in support of a chosen charity. This year, in the wake of COVID, they’re paddling for Archway Society, a non-profit whose mission is to transition to a future free from violence, specifically domestic violence and sexual assault affecting women, children and youth.

Since the pandemic began Archway Society has seen a 48% increase in women, children and youth accessing their programs and alarmingly, a dramatic spike in the severity and intensity of abuse making cases more complex and difficult.

The money raised will be used to further enhance our programs, particularly ones that are in development and as such do not have designated stable funding and allow Archway Society to continue to be leaders in supporting women, children and families to live with dignity, respect, and free from violence.
The Paddle will take place on Sat, Aug 14th, starting at Kaloya Regional Park and ending at Kal Beach.
