Lighthouse provides the following opportunities and services.

(1) Undercurrent Youth Centre - This facility exists to provide a safe, drug and alcohol free zone for the youth of Cape Breton. It is open to every young person in the community.

(2) Mission Trips - Lighthouse gives opportunities for people to see and experience what life is like for most of the world, especially the poor and neglected.  These are opportunities to learn how individuals and groups can make a long tern difference in the lives of the world's most needy. 

(3) Lighthouse, as a church, provides spiritual direction and guidance. It is open to everyone no matter their church background. There are locations in Glace Bay, Sydney, and also beginning in New Waterford.

Lighthouse and Undercurrent exist to serve the communities in Cape Breton. 

We have set a goal to help cover the expense of 250 kids and youth to be in weekly mentor-ship / life-skills programs. This number represents just 10% of the kids and youth in Glace Bay and New Waterford who are presently living in poverty. 

This is your opportunity to help. You can sponsor Dave, our Exec Director, per hike.  You can also choose to sponsor a youth to do these hike.  Last, you can sponsor a youth to attend our programs, which is our ultimate goal.
