Extend-A-Family is a grass roots community based non-profit organization. We are committed to enhancing the well-being of individuals with a developmental and/or physical disability and their families. Extend-A-Family was founded in 1981 by a group of parents who had a vision about an inclusive community and the importance of relationships in the lives of their sons and daughters who were developmentally and/or physically disabled. Extend-A-Family has grown and changed over the years but continues in its commitment to enhancing the well being of people with developmental and/or physical disabilities. Today, Extend-A-Family supports approximately 900 families across the Waterloo Region. All donations made to Extend-A-Family will benefit the following programs: Special Services at Home, Respite, Adult Respite Fun Groups, Family Home, Best Buddies, Individualized Day Program and our Summer Programs.
