This program aids in preventing the overpopulation of Beagles, which is still a problem in Newfoundland and Labrador and across the country. Over 80% of the dogs arriving in our care require a spay or neuter surgery at a cost of $600-$700 per dog. In addition, a large portion of our intakes are senior dogs (eight years plus) who require blood work before their spay and neuter, significantly increasing the cost.
