Nighthawk Hill Grasslands
The Nature Trust of BC has the opportunity to purchase and protect 11 hectares of wild, native grasslands in the South Okanagan — an acquisition which will allow for unimpeded wildlife access to the riparian floodplain of the Similkameen River and provide habitat for numerous species.
Located within the very hot dry Bunchgrass biogeoclimatic zone, at least 17 at-risk species are found within 1 km of the Nighthawk Hill Grasslands, including the Western Tiger Salamander, the Lewis’s Woodpecker and the American Badger.
